If you have found going through the hundreds of different African safaris overwhelming, then you have come to the right place! We make planning a safari vacation easy by selecting the appropriate African Safari vacation for you based upon your interests and budget.
Who Are We?
Safaris Made Simple was established by Mira Prostick in 1996 as an independent travel agency, bringing over 25 years of travel experience to the venture. As such, we are free to select a safari from any tour operator we think is appropriate for our client's interest and budget. Once you give us a rough idea of what you are keen on seeing, we will then work with you to select or customize just the right safari for you. Keep in mind that since we are a travel agency, you will pay the same whether you book your safari with us or directly with a tour operator. Click on the Fundi logo below to learn more about us.
Safari Suggestions
For the people taking their first safari, we highly recommend Kenya or Tanzania, where safaris are a long and well established tradition. Both destinations offer an extensive range of game parks and reserves with vast wildlife attractions including Africa's Big Five: lion, elephant, rhino, Cape buffalo and leopard and opportunities to experience a balloon safari. Seeing The Great Migration, which occurs from July through October in Kenya and January through June/July in Tanzania is a must and should be included, if at all possible.
For the second or the third safari trip, our suggestion is travel to Zambia and Botswana including a visit to Victoria Falls and Cape Town. Zambia, although remote and completely off the beaten track, is the original home of walking safaris, including night game drives and is the safari destination for the lovers of hippos. Botswana is home to Okavango Delta, an oasis in the Kalahari, a stunningly beautiful "Garden of Eden" with lagoons, channels and waterways. The game viewing is intimate, accommodations stylish with some camps specializing in water based activities such as mokoros and motor boats.
A safari to South Africa is unique in it that it typically combines a visit to cosmopolitan Cape Town and the Winelands, the Garden Route and Kruger, with accommodations ranging from comfortable and stylish, to some of the most luxurious lodges on private game reserves adjacent to Kruger.
